The concepts of self esteem and self efficacy form the basis of our self-concept. Building both your self-esteem – the feeling you have about yourself – and self-efficacy – the belief in your ability to accomplish a specific goal or task – takes work and a willingness to be completely honest with yourself. But the results can be life changing.
Focusing on building self-esteem and self-efficacy can often call to mind that negative self-talk that can keep us down. Taking the time to slow down and consider the realities of a situation can often help to “rewire” negative thoughts.
